Prices and counts: the 8 most-viewed listings we checked on creatrip.com on 2026-10-25. Booking-site prices are often promotions and change without notice.
7 of the 8 listings we checked showed only a booking deposit of about 3 to 4 USD, not the service price. In the Men's Hair Salon category (5 listings), 3 of 5 showed a starting price between 1 and 33 USD.
What happens
- The stylist looks at your face shape, hair texture and the look you want.
- You choose a style from the salon's photo book or show your own photos.
- The salon tells you the price, which can rise with hair length.
- Upscale salons often include a shampoo and a head massage.
- The stylist dries and styles your hair at the end.
Before you book
- Book ahead for weekends. A 2024 report said walk-ins on weekends are close to impossible at many salons.
- Bring photos of the style you want.
- A Korean perm usually adds wave and volume. Ask for a straight perm if you want less volume.
- Ask about long-hair surcharges. For three or more services, salons must give an itemized price in advance.
- If your hair is tightly coiled or very curly, ask first whether the salon works with your hair type.
Watch out for
- Stylists often suggest extra treatments or products. You can say no.
- The deposit shown on a booking site is not the full price.

Next step: choosing a shop yourself
- Pick two or three shops near where you are staying. The neighborhoods above are where most listings are.
- Send each shop the same questions: the total price with tax, whether it is per person, whether English is available, and the deposit and cancellation rule.
- Compare the written answers. Booking-site banners are often promotions and change without notice.
- For lasers, injections or anything a doctor does, read the treatment page first and ask the clinic for its registration to treat foreign patients.
